The Dalehead is also known as a butterfly flip bit, on a similar design basis to the kimblewick with a mild leverage action. The Dalehead has a longer cheek top and a C sleeve design that allows a sliding effect but eliminates pinching.
A curb strap may be used to distribute even pressure on the horse's jaw which will also help stabilise the bit and prevent it over rotating.
This bit has a foward cut medium hartwell style port.
